Allow Teleconference access between child and the non-custodial parents: Plea in SC

A Petition has been filed in Supreme Court Seeking guidelines to allow teleconference access between child and the non-custodial parent, to ensure child is the first to get relief and also to fulfil the constitutional and international commitment towards the Best Interest of the child.

New Delhi:A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to allow teleconferencing access between the child and the non-custodial parent.

The petition filed by Kumar Sheodhvj Ratna states that during the lockdown children and parents will have enough time to build a strong emotional bond between them.

He filed the petition in the wake of the arrangement of an alternate system for visitation rights of the children with their non-custodial parent during the nationwide lockdown.

"A child getting uninterrupted access to the non- custodial parent will save them from the harmful impact of Parental Alienation. The Parental Alienation Syndrome(PAS) affects the child (ren) in several ways deteriorating the personality inner core and psychology of the child," the petition read.

The petitioner argues quality relationship is dependent upon the sufficient quantity of time which the children and parents get together.
