New Delhi: Holding BJP governments responsible for violence during anti-CAA protests, Left parties - CPI and CPI (M) - on Wednesday said that all opposition parties should come together to oppose the Narendra Modi government on the amended citizenship law and the proposed NRC.
Speaking to the ETV Bharat here, Sitaram Yechury, general secretary, CPI (M), said that violence during protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) across India took place only in BJP-ruled states.
"People know that the government is doing it. They cannot mislead the people on it anymore," he said, adding that all opposition parties must get united and oppose the government.
Expressing similar views, CPI general secretary D Raja said it's the government that has been instigating violence.
