New Delhi:A Tamil Nadu based advocate on Friday approached the Supreme Court seeking a direction to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to restrain from the state home department citing the probe and trials proceedings in the controversial father-son duo’s custodial death case in Thoothukkudi.
Advocate Rajarajan submitted its inappropriate for Tamil Nadu CM to continue as home department head as the latter’s statement revealed that the victims were died only due to health-related ailments and not because of police brutality.
“A few days after the custodial death of Jayaraj and Fenix (Bennicks) in Sattankulam of Thoothukkudi, TN CM said Jayaraj died of age-related ailments and is son Bennicks died of respiratory failure. Even before the probe was launched on this father-son duo’s mysterious death, CM’s statement aired several doubts.
