Talking to the ETV Bharat here, Jangid said he was going to get himself registered when a group of people attacked him.

He said they had iron rods, stones and sticks in their hands and were attacking students after identifying them. "They identified students affiliated with the ABVP and attacked them," he said, adding that as he was running to save his life he helped one his friends and then they hid in a hostel room.

Jangid also held Aishe Ghosh, president JNUSU, responsible for the unrest in the university, saying she created a problem in registrations being held in the server room in the campus.

On being asked who the attackers were, Jangid, who got one of his arms fractured in the violence on Sunday, said they were associated with left parties. "I have identified two of them and will report about them to the authorities concerned," he said.

He also said after being hit, he lost consciousness and found himself in a hospital as he regained it. Another student, affiliated with the ABVP, Shivmani Sahu, also had a similar story to share. He said he was located and then attacked.

Meanwhile, the security of the university campus has been beefed up even as the protest against the ABVP and the Left are being held in different parts of the country with people holding responsible for the violence in which a large number of students and teachers were injured.
