Finding a therapist

This can make a big difference if you are experiencing back pain for more than 4-6 weeks. You should visit an expert who will help you with the right techniques to keep your abdomen muscles healthy by working on your posture and stability.

Try yoga

According to a study published in Annals for internal medicine, there is strong evidence that yoga relieves back pain in the short term, through yoga postures and movements. Yoga involves slow, controlled movements to strengthen your entire body. This reduces the back pain and tension on the back as well.

One of the useful exercise for releasing back pain is Marjariasana (Cat Pose), mentioned below are the steps for doing it:

Marjariasana (Cat pose)

-Start On your hands and knees with a “Tabletop” position.

-As you exhale round your spine towards the ceiling, keeping your shoulder in the same position.

-Inhale, coming back to the tabletop position, then repeat.

Sleep smarter

Sleeping in an awkward position can also give you back pain right from the moment you wake up. People with sleeping position issues should sleep sideways with their knees drawn closer to the chest. Placing a pillow or two between your legs while sleeping helps to reduce back pain. Sleeping on too soft mattresses also causes back pain, thus sleep on a firmer one to avoid any back pain.

Get hot and cold

There isn’t any proof whether hot and cold will ease the symptoms, but some people tried it experienced reduced pain. Want to know whether it will help or not? Apply ice for two to three times in the morning, then apply hot water at bedtime. Don’t forget to wrap the hot water pack in a towel to protect your skin. Then check if your sour back improves.

Relax your mind

Research shows your state of mind can affect chances of back pain. People who have chronic pain or issue handling what life throws at them are three times more likely to experience back pain than the people without it. That means if you are anxious or expect worst in every situation would be more likely to experience it.

Lower back pain is a chronic and debilitating condition; small steps can help to better or worsen the discomfort. Thus, be careful while handling your aching back.
