1984 Sikh carnage: Sikh delegation demands safety of witnesses from Shah

In a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, a Sikh delegation led by Gurudwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa has demanded safety and security of witnesses in the 1984 Sikh carnage case. The SIT recently re-opened the case and Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath is suspected to be involved in it.

New Delhi:A Sikh delegation led by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee Chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa met Union Home Minister Amit Shah here.

The delegation requested Shah to ensure safety and security of Mukhtiar Singh and Sanjay Suri who are prime witnesses in the 1984 murder case of two sikhs in gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib.

On Monday, Mukhtiar Singh appeared before SIT as part of the probe in Sikh carnage.

The SIT recently decided to re-open seven cases, putting this case under the important cases list as Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath is supposed to have connections with the carnage.

As per previous statements of Singh and Suri to the Nanavati commission, Kamal Nath was present near gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and was allegedly involved in the case.

However, due to a lack of evidence, the case was closed. But after the SIT re-opened it, two witnesses became ready for giving their statements.

The re-opening of this case can cause troubles for Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath in the coming days.
