Ranchi: Acting on a tip-off, police arrested ten Naxalites from Sadar and Kanke area of Ranchi.
The police questioned the arrested Naxalites and it is revealed that many of them were engaged in criminal activities in rural areas before becoming Naxalites.
According to sources, all the Naxalites arrested are associated with Peoples' Liberation Front of India (PLFI) Area Commander Punai Oraon Squad.
Their Area Commander Punai Oraon used to connect them with his squad to commit crimes on commission.
Police have recovered a large number of weapons including five pistols, three domestic kattas and a large number of cartridges from the place where they were hiding.
The Naxalites were given the responsibility to collect levy from development works, brick kilns, crushers and other businessmen in rural areas of Ranchi.
