Bengaluru: The BBMP and the state government have come up with a new plan to prevent bed blocking. Minister of Medical Education Dr K. Sudhakar inaugurated the 'Search My Bed' portal through a virtual event. MP Tejasvi Surya and BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta were also presented during the virtual event.
In light of the Covid surge in Bengaluru, private hospitals have started to display 'No Beds Available' signboards. Due to this patients are struggling to get admission to the city's hospitals. Therefore, PHANA-Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes association has started the initiative 'Search my Bed' portal.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya said this facility had to be made during the first wave of covid. But it has started now. Real-time bed availability status is necessary for this digital era. This portal was made in just 10 days. This portal should be helpful to the public by giving information about real-time bed availability.
Dr K Sudhakar said. "I am very happy to inaugurate PHANA's 'Search my Bed' portal. This scheme especially made for covid patients. Technology made our life so easy. We vaccinated using the covid software". The minister further added, "Our health sector is using various technologies. So these technologies are helping us to face many difficulties. This portal also helps people to know about bed availability. This portal helps to save patient's precious time. So, I would like to thank PHANA for this portal."
