Bengaluru: Nearly 8,000 COVID-19 patients from Bengaluru are missing, BBMP authorities have found. The civic body and the health department are worried that these missing patients may spread the virus.
BBMP authorities and police officials are in the process of locating the residence address of these patients and passing this information to the respective police stations so as to trace them at the earliest.

A total of 8,483 infected people from the city are missing. In March, 3066 people were missing, of which 2780 were traced. In April, 46,126 people were missing of which 42,147 were located. Till May 11, 20,330 people were missing of which 16,112 were discovered. Police have been on their toes to find the missing people.
One of the primary ways to find these people is to contact them on the phone number that they provided during the COVID-19 test. However, sources said many of these numbers are either switched off or incorrect.
