Mumbai: The Special NDPS Court hearing the bail application of Aryan Khan in the Mumbai drugs case adjourned the case till tomorrow. Khan has been under custody since his arrest in the case on October 3.
The Narcotics Control Bureau has argued against the bail alleging Khan's involvement in the illegal "procurement and distribution" of contraband. The Bureau also claimed to have found evidence of Khan being in touch with foreign nationals who appear to be a part of an international drug network.
NCB lawyer Advait Sethna also claimed that Khan might tamper or destroy evidence if released on bail.
However, senior advocate Amit Desai appearing for Aryan Khan refuted the claims. Desai in his argument said that no cash was seized from Aryan Khan at the time of the raid. He said that the Bureau cannot prove intent to buy, consume or sell drugs. Desai said that under the provisions brought against Aryan by the NCB, he can be sentenced to a maximum of one year and on that basis, he has every right to get bail by law.
