Lucknow:The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will seize slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's properties worth over Rs 100 crore soon, police sources said. Necessary paperwork has already been started by ED in this regard. After Prayagraj, the agency will confiscate Atiq's assets in other cities of Uttar Pradesh and other states, officials aid.
Atiq's properties, which ED is preparing to confiscate, is worth Rs 28 crore while its current market price is over Rs 100 crore. After confiscating the properties in Prayagraj, ED will take similar action for Atiq's assets located in other cities including Noida, Delhi and Lucknow, officials said. For which, the agency has sought a certified copy of the registered properties from the registry office. Most of the properties were bought by Atiq in the name of his relatives. ED possess the documents of all illegal documents and would confiscate those as per the law, officials said.
