New Delhi:The most high-profile electoral battle being fought in West Bengal's Nandigram has seen two different strategies between rivals Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her protege-turned-foe Suvendu Adhikari.

While the second phase election again saw violence in several constituencies, both the parties accused each other of this.

When a vehicle belonging to media personnel was attacked near booth number 170 in Kamalpur, Nandigram on Thursday, Adhikari said that "this is the work of Pakistanis".

Amid violence during the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at a polling booth in Nandigram. Banerjee's arrival came amid allegations of booth capturing by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

However, Trinamool Congress (TMC) agents alleged that they are not being allowed to enter the polling booths in Nandigram.

As the situation turned chaotic outside the booth, the Chief Minister seemed visibly angry.

Speaking to ETV Bharat in this regard, BJP MP, Manoj Tiwari stated that Mamata Banerjee has forgotten all her ethics in this election as she has found BJP as a strong opponent of TMC.

"Reacting to the slogans against her, Banerjee said none of the people are speaking in Bengali. All of them are outsiders. They are goons sent from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and they are being protected by Central forces. Is it the voice of the chief minister? Mamta Banerjee needs to know the constitution is very important for running a state politically," he said.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson, Sudesh Verma also accused Mamata Banerjee of not following democratic norms and claimed BJP's win in the state.

Notably, West Bengal recorded a voter turnout of 80.43 per cent till 5.30 pm in the second phase of the state Assembly polls.
