New Delhi:Union Minister Arjun Munda, who is the current president of the Archery Association of India (AAI), on Wednesday expressed happiness after the association finally got government recognition.
"Congratulations to Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju ji to restore recognition of Archery Association of India. The restoration of the recognition of the Union has opened up a new chapter for Indian archery. There will be a renewed enthusiasm for the players. It is also a victory of truth," Munda said in a tweet in Hindi.
Earlier in the day, the Archery Association of India finally got back the government recognition eight years after it was withdrawn for its failure to conduct elections in accordance with the National Sports Development Code.
The much-delayed elections of the AAI were held in January this year with Union Minister Arjun Munda's panel securing full majority.
