New Delhi: The Supreme court today refused to entertain a Public Interest Litigation(PIL) seeking a CBI probe into the death of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul in 2016.
The bench comprising of Justice UU Lalit, Justice KM Joseph and Justice Indira Banerjee observed that Pul's wife had also approached the top court back in 2017 and that case was withdrawn with liberty to approach the President. The court said the current petitioner is not even related to Pul and should seek other remedies.
In the suicide note left by Pul, there were various prominent names and hence the court had asked to make a representation before the President. However, nothing happened after the representation, informed Adv Siddharth Dave to court today.
