New Delhi: As Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations have increased their abortive attempts to infiltrate India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday asked security agencies to intensify patrolling along the India-Pakistan border.

Home Minister Shah held a marathon meeting for 2.5 hours at North Block with J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Army Chief Manoj Pandey, RAW chief Samant Goel, BSF DG Pankaj Singh, CRPF DG Kuldeip Singh, and other senior officials of J&K administration and Home Ministry.

Home Minister Shah has asked security forces and the police to continue with the coordinated efforts through meticulous and well-planned counter-terrorism operations to wipe out terrorism. In the last 24 hours, security agencies in J&K foiled two abortive attempts of the terrorist organizations in J&K and another one by terrorists.

"Union Home Minister asked security forces and the police to continue with the coordinated efforts through meticulous and well-planned counter-terrorism operations to wipe out terrorism. He also said the people of Jammu and Kashmir would decisively defeat the proxy war with the help of security forces," a government official privy to the meeting told ETV Bharat

Shah has also appreciated the efforts of the security agencies and administration of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the successful conduct of the Amarnath Yatra this year, which was held after a gap of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The home minister said it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to have a prosperous and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir and to achieve this, the security forces should strive to make the border and the LoC impregnable.

Shah further said the terrorist eco-system comprising elements that aid, abet and sustain the terrorists and separatists' campaign to the detriment of the well-being of the common man requires to be dismantled.
