Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Thursday granted bail to Kamran Ameen Khan who had reportedly sent a Whatsapp message threatening to kill Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a bomb.

The accused had filed an unconditional apology in his affidavit in the High Court stating that he won't repeat such mistake in the future and is embarrassed of his act. The bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh was hearing the bail application filed by Khan.

The accused had sent a message to a Whatsapp group of Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters. The message read, "I will kill CM Yogi as he is the enemy of minorities." Khan was arrested in May and was sent behind the bars.

In his affidavit, he also mentioned about his disturbed state of mind due to coronavirus-induced lockdown and the unemployment. He stated that he has been facing economic hardships due to the unemployment and he was not in a fit state of mind.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, unconditional and unqualified apology tendered by the accused-applicant for his act, the Court granted him bail. The apex body in its dictum said that the petitioner should be careful while posting or sending messages and will not repeat the offence of such nature.
