New Delhi: Giving a clarion call to all the Opposition parties to unite against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government, Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday said TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is working in the direction to unite all the opposition parties against the BJP government and all the leaders should support the cause.
In an exclusive interaction with ETV Bharat, Lalu said that rather than developing, the country is going backwards under the Modi government as it is lagging in every aspect. "It will take more time to bring India back on tracks as the development has been stalled under PM Modi," he claimed.

Lalu expressed concern the manner in which police handled the situation inside the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He said that the incident where police charged the MLAs inside the Bihar Legislative Assembly during the budget session was unfortunate. "This must have never happened but in the current monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi is constantly cornering the government on this issue. He is doing a good work," he said.
