New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to dedicate the birth anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to farmers. For which, the party is taking steps to ensure that the government's farmer-welfare policies are conveyed to people in detail.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be connecting with farmers on the anniversary of the birth of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 25 December, said the BJP. The group will organise "Kisan Samvad" in more than 2,500 locations in Uttar Pradesh.
Both BJP representatives and MLAs will participate on 25 December, preferably from their electoral districts, along with farmers in PM Narendra Modi's special virtual address.
The Prime Minister has on different occasions spoken in favour of the three farm laws and how they would change the lives of farmers in the coming years.
As per the instructions of party president JP Nadda, BJP national general secretary and office in-charge Arun Singh has sent a letter to all MPs, MLAs, MLC block chief and state presidents regarding the same.
In this letter, it has been directly instructed that all the elected representatives should remain in their respective areas and large screens should be arranged at many places in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech was arranged to see more and more farmers.
The letter sent by BJP general secretary Arun Singh contains instructions for the party leaders on the order of JP Nadda.
The instructions outline: "Big screens to be arranged for listening to the address of the honourable Prime Minister at every block development centre ensuring participation of the maximum number of farmers."
It further says that the program at district level should start an hour before the address of PM Modi in which the office-bearers and public representatives should discuss the benefits of the scheme started by Modi government for the farmers like Neem-coated urea, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Soil Health Card, Minimum Support Price, Prime Minister Sichai Yojana, Kisan Rail and investment of Rs one lakh crore in the farm sector.
The programs should be organised at all Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) and cooperative centres to ensure mass participation, the instructions by Singh conjoined for the party members.
The farmers should be invited to all the districts, state BJP party offices to listen to the Prime Minister's address and it should be widely publicised, it added.
The LED screens are being set up so that the full number of farmers can listen to the PM address. It is also expected to talk to farmers about the latest farm reforms and to listen to the experiences of some of them about the new regulations and the benefits of the PM Kisan Nidhi scheme.
"What could be a better day to dedicate to farmers than birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The government has taken several welfare measures for farmers including Kisan Samman Nidhi and neem-coating of urea. If the PM speaks to the people directly, the message will reach the masses," a senior BJP official said.
"The program has been prepared by the Central Office in its entirety and the leaders have been instructed to get posters and banners printed in local languages so that the farmers can be understood properly in their own language," the official said.
"The opposition is constantly misleading the farmers, while the government of Narendra Modi has been continuously working in the interest of the farmers for the last 6 years and it is necessary to convey these things to the farmers so that they do not get confused," the official added.
