Kerala: Sharjah-bound AI Express flies back to airport soon after take-off

Flight with 170 passengers and 7 crew members suffered technical glitch soon after the take off from Thiruvananthapuram Int'l airport on Monday morning. Pilots noticed the technical glitch around half-an-hour after the take off and immediately flew back to Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram:An Air India Express flight which took off from here for Sharjah, UAE, on Monday morning was forced to return shortly after taking off due to a technical glitch.

The plane, carrying 170 passengers and a crew of six, landed safely at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Another flight was arranged for the passengers, including five infants, to travel to Sharjah, an Air India Express (AIE) spokesperson told PTI.

According to an official of the airport, the incident occurred around 7am. The AIE spokesperson said the pilots noticed the technical glitch around half-an-hour after take-off and immediately decided to fly back to Thiruvananthapuram International airport.
