Ahead of meeting with Sonia, Punjab CM holds discussion with Prashant Kishor

Hours before Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, on Tuesday, poll strategist Prashant Kishor held discussions with the CM over issues like Cabinet reshuffle and party's preparations for upcoming Assembly elections in 2022.

New Delhi:Hours before Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, on Tuesday, poll strategist Prashant Kishor held discussions with the CM over issues like Cabinet reshuffle and party's preparations for upcoming Assembly elections in 2022.

Kishor reached Kapurthala House soon after Captain reached Delhi. The meeting continued for three hours after which Prashant Kishor left without interacting with the media. It must be noted that Prashant Kishor had resigned from the post of Principal Advisor of Captain Amarinder Singh last week.

Captain Amarinder Singh would brief Congress president today regarding the much-awaited Cabinet reshuffle in Punjab. Also, the issue of Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu's revolt against his own Government may also be raised in today's meeting.

This will be the first meeting of Captain Amarinder Singh with Sonia Gandhi after the changes were made in the Congress unit of Punjab. This meeting remains significant as Prashant Kishor has been working on the plan of Congress revival in the upcoming elections.

Earlier the meeting was scheduled at 12:30 but it later got postponed for 5 pm. According to the sources, the move was taken in view of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's visit to Srinagar as he will come back to Delhi by today evening. Punjab CM is also expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah today evening.
