New Delhi:As the political temperature is on a rise in Congress' unit of Punjab, party's former President and MP Rahul Gandhi, on Monday, called a meeting with a few state leaders to discuss the ongoing feud. This comes just a day ahead of the meeting of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh with Congress High Command, in Delhi.
On Monday, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu once again trained guns against Capt and even accused him of "lying". Soon after his controversial remarks, Rahul called a meeting of some MPs and MLAs of Punjab Congress at his residence in Delhi. Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, MLA Rajkumar Verka, Kuljeet Singh Nagra and Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat attended the meeting.
While speaking to the media, Rawat said, "We will go through his statement once again, will speak to other leaders of the party then decide. No one should speak like this in a public forum at a time when the entire matter is before the party high command. This is absolutely wrong." On the other hand, Aujla questioned the timing of Sidhu's statement, saying, "We all know about his grievances, but what is the logic of saying all these things at such time when it can harm the party's image?"
