New Delhi: Amid the tensions prevailing in their home country, Afghan refugees living in Delhi have appealed to the international community to come forward and help the people of Afghanistan. On Wednesday, more than 100 Afghan refugees gathered in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar to convene a protest against the Taliban rule, during which several young children sang and staged plays in their local language to highlight and condemn the brutal rule of the Taliban.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Tabassum, a young woman from Afghanistan living in India for six years, said that the world should not renounce her country. Tabassum said she feels safe in India and is thankful to the Indian government. She further said that the gathering was a message to the people trapped in Afghanistan that they were not alone and appealed to various countries, including India, to open their borders for the refugees.
