Edavaleth Kakkat Janaki Ammalwas a renowned botanist and plant cytologist who made significant contributions to genetics, evolution, phytogeography and ethnobotany. She was the Founder Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences.She is the winner of Padma Shri Award.
