Aadhaar card with address in Assam seized from Afghan national

According to the information received, a 22-year-old citizen of Afghanistan is currently in the custody of Kerala police. His name is Abbas Khan alias Eidgul. The Kerala cops arrested this Afghan national from Kolkata. The police have seized an Aadhar card which was prepared with fake addresses from this Afghan youth.

Hyderabad: While Assam Police have arrested political leaders, maulanas, and students for their pro-Taliban comments on social media, the recovery of an Aadhar card from an Afghan youth has become a matter of concern. According to the information received, a 22-year-old citizen of Afghanistan is currently in the custody of Kerala police. His name is Abbas Khan alias Eidgul. The Kerala police arrested this Afghan national from Kolkata. The police have seized an Aadhar card which was prepared with fake addresses from this Afghan youth.

Now, the question arises as to how an Afghan citizen was able to produce an Aadhaar card through fake addresses in Assam. Abbas further admitted in police interrogation that his father is an Afghan but his mother is from Assam. Abbas came to Assam in 2019 with a medical visa. The visa period was only three months. But Abbas did not return to his home even after the term expired. Abbas had prepared the Aadhaar card with the address in Assam.

Abbas Khan had been working under a contractor in a shipping carrier company in Kochi, Kerala for the past two years. But recently the Kerala police received a report that Pakistan had a special connection with Abbas. The Kochi police immediately started an operation. Meanwhile, Abbas alias Eidgul disappeared from the workplace after receiving information about the operation. Eidgul was finally arrested by Kochi police from the Boubazaar area of Kolkata. After eight days in Kochi police custody, Abbas admitted that he was actually an Afghan citizen.
