Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): Sufiya was born in Rajasthan’s Ajmer. She completed her graduation and worked in a private airline company for 10 years. Sufiya prioritizes fitness over anything else which is why she chose running as a means. Gradually, she developed a passion for running. Currently, Sufiya is running across the country to campaign Mission for Hope. She started her run on December 16, 2020. Within 135 days, she plans to run 6,000 km and aims to reach Delhi through major metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Chennai.

At present, Sufiya is busy racing through the Golden Quadrilateral, a national highway network connecting most of the major cities. She has reached Andhra Pradesh and sprinting across Krishna and Guntur districts. Sufiya has initiated this running mission to promote hope, peace and equality. She firmly believes that the lack of equality and humanity among people is the reason for crimes in society. She suggests that we get out of this dire situation and move forward for a better society.

“The purpose of this mission is to meet more people. My goal is to spread the message about peace and humanity wherever I go. Everyone needs to know the circumstances in the country. We need to respect each other. I will spread the message in every corner of the country”, shared Sufiya.

Sufiya is all set to apply for the Guinness Book of World Records. In 2019, she ran 4,000 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for which she won a place in the Guinness Book. Now she is trying to break her own record by running 6,000 km. Sufiya’s husband Vikas follows her in a vehicle during her running journey. Contrary to the adage that there is a woman behind every man’s success; Vikas is encouraging Sufiya’s every step. The couple is sustaining the mission through crowd-funding and the support of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.

“I am meeting a lot of people along the way. Everyone is standing by me and running along with me. I am really happy”, added Sufiya.

Sufiya has already crossed many major cities in the country. With Delhi as the final destination, her running mission is going to end in the first week of April.
