New Delhi:Close on the heels of arresting a sacked top executive of an MNC for peeing on a co-passenger onboard Air India flight to Delhi from New York in November last year, Delhi police have arrested an inebriated passenger for urinating in full public view at a departure gate at India Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Saturday.
"At around 5.30 pm, we received a call saying said that someone was urinating near gate number 6 of the departure area. The caller said that the man who was urinating seemed to be in an inebriated condition. A team of CISF and police was sent to the spot and the accused was caught," a senior police official said.
The Delhi police who identified the suspect as Jauhar Ali Khan said he was asked by others not to urinate in the open. He he did not listen and instead argued with them. He was taken to a nearby government hospital, where it was confirmed that he had been drunk, police said.
He was placed under arrest and later on released on bail as he was booked under bailable sections. "He was scheduled to depart from Delhi on a flight to Dammam. He was caught urinating publicly in front of departure gate 6 at IGI Airport Terminal 3 on Jan. 8," ANI reported quoting Delhi Police.
