Hyderabad: The monsoon session of Parliament will commence on July 19 and conclude on August 13. The monsoon session this year will have 19 business days which will deal with nearly 40 bills and five ordinances that are pending before the Parliament.
Some of the prominent bills that the Centre is likely to introduce in the Parliament during the monsoon session are:
● The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill: Under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, the maintenance tribunals may direct children to pay up to ₹10,000 per month to their parents.
● The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill: The Bill seeks measures for strengthening the child protection set-up.
● The Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill: It bill says that every Assisted Reproductive Technology clinic and bank must be registered under the National Registry of Banks and Clinics of India.
● The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Bill: The Bill provides for granting the status of national importance to the six pharmaceutical education and research institutes in Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Raebareli.
● A Bill to designate major airports
● Setting up of an interstate river water dispute redressal committee
