Chandigarh:In a big relief to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, senior Congress leader and Punjab AICC in-charge Harish Rawat said the crisis in the party is an "internal party matter and it will be resolved soon. We will fight the coming elections under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh. There is not going to be any change."
Earlier, four cabinet ministers and around 32 Congress MLAs having raised a banner of revolt against the Punjab CM. They have announced that they have no faith in Captain Amarinder Singh as far as fulfilling the election promises is concerned. Amid the political turmoil in the Punjab Congress, leaders from the Navjot Singh Sidhu camp on Wednesday met Punjab AICC in-charge Harish Rawat in Dehradun. Rawat having met the disgruntled leaders assured them that he would resolve the ongoing tussle of Punjab Congress.
Speaking to the media Rawat said, "We will fight the coming elections under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh. There is not going to be any change. Navjot Singh Sidhu's entry is totally a different issue and it may take some time for him to understand. Be it, Sidhu or Harish Rawat, Amarinder Singh or Bajwa, all these people are old soldiers of the Congress. Therefore, there is no crisis of any kind in the Punjab government. I will talk to the MLAs and ministers and make the high command aware of the whole issue."
