Agartala: Marking the occasion of International Women’s Day, the union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced 33 per cent government jobs in Tripura will be reserved for women.
Shah, who is on a day visit to Tripura on Tuesday, arrived in Agartala and directly flew to Mata Tripura Sundari Temple at Udaipur sub-division of Tripura’s Gomati district, where he inaugurated a silver door of the temple and then addressed a mass gathering at Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.
While addressing the gathering, union home minister Shah said, “Four years after the formation of BJP government, I can see that Tripura, which was earlier plagued by drug business, is today moving towards becoming self-reliant. The BJP government has done the work of providing electricity to every poor in the state”, he said announcing 33 percent government jobs in Tripura will be reserved for women. Shah claimed that the BJP government in Tripura has completed construction work for dozens of road and railways across the state.
