Agra:The separatists from Jammu and Kashmir who are jailed in other districts of the state are being shifted to Agra Central Jail showing the Home Ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir administration's faith on the security of the jail administration.
On Monday night, 12 prisoners of Jammu and Kashmir will be shifted from Naini Central Jail and Ambedkar Nagar Jail to Agra Central Jail taking the total number of Jammu and Kashmir prisoners to 25.
The Agra Central Jail administration has tightened the security arrangements for the prisoners from Jammu and Kashmir who are kept in high-security barracks and being monitored with CCTV cameras.
After the removal of Articles 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Ministry shifted all the separatists to the jails of different states in view of the law and order of the state and the security of the country.
85 separatists from Jammu Kashmir were first airlifted to Uttar Pradesh and lodged at Agra Central Jail and were tried under the Public Security Act (PSA). So far 78 prisoners have been released on the instructions of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Ministry of Home Affairs. 8 prisoners are still detained in Agra Central Jail.
