Bihar boat tragedy: One dead, over 20 farmers still missing

A group of farmers were travelling in a boat to work when the boat overturned in the Gopalganj area of Bihar.

Gopalganj (Bihar): At least 24 people, who were on a boat are feared to be missing as the boat capsized in the Gopalganj area of Bihar on Wednesday.

A group of farmers were travelling in a boat to work when the boat capsized. In all, 24 people are reported to be in the boat when the mishap took place. One of them saved himself by swimming to the shore while the body of a woman has been recovered. Over 20 are still missing and several of them are feared dead.

The farmers were mostly from Kuchaykot and Vishambharpur police station areas and the accident happened near Bhagwanpur village located on the Bettiah-Gopalganj border.
