Mumbai: Raising a serious concern, a survey has found that of the 23,239 vaccinated people who were reinfected with Covid-19 in Mumbai include 9,000, who have been fully vaccinated against the deadly virus.
23,239 citizens test Covid positive
A survey conducted by the Municipal Corporation to find out how many citizens got re-infected came up with the data. The number of people who have taken both doses of vaccine is around 25.39 lakh, and among them, 23,239 people who were partially vaccinated, and 9,001 persons who were fully vaccinated got reinfected. The number of those who have been re-infected after having taken the Covid vaccine first dose is 14,239. Meanwhile, the highest incidence of coronavirus reinfection among vaccinated people is in the age bracket of over 60 years.
0.35% of citizens re-infected with corona
Out of the total vaccinated people in Mumbai, 0.35 per cent of the population have been re-infected with corona, which means 350 persons out of 1,00,000 citizens who have taken both doses have tested positive.
However, following reports of vaccinated people being re-infected, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation informed citizens not to be hesitant in taking vaccines, adding that the incidence of corona reinfection is negligible.
