Mumbai:Even as Maharashtra is grappling with COVID-19, cases of Mucormycosis cases are steadily increasing in the country's financial capital.
111 cases of Mucormycosis in Mumbai
COVID-19 cases are slowly declining but patients cured of the virus are now exposed to the risk of Mucormycosis for which immediate medical intervention is necessary. Mumbai has so far seen 111 cases of Mucormycosis. The patients are being treated in King Edward Memorial Hospital, Nair Hospital and Cooper Hospital. They were detected positive for the fungal infection in the post-COVID outdoor patient facility run by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The civic body said these patients are under observation but stable.
