As many as 100 people, including 45 children suffered food poisoning in Rajasthan's Churu district on Wednesday. They had fallen ill having consumed food at a wedding ceremony.

Churu:As many as 100 people, including 45 children suffered food poisoning in Rajasthan's Churu district on Wednesday. They had fallen ill having consumed food at a wedding ceremony, reports say, adding that those affected were rushed to hospitals for treatment. Due to the scarcity of beds, many of those who have been admitted were laid on the floor and treated.

According to information, a wedding ceremony was held in ward number 44 of Sardarshahr in the district where a man threw a grand feast on the marriage of his four daughters on the same day. Two of the bridegrooms from Bidasar, and the other two from Ladnu and Jodhpur had also reached Sardarshahr and the marriage ceremony was held till 4 PM.

However, after around four hours, many people began complaining of stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea. The health of some of them also deteriorated due to food poisoning, and they were taken to the state hospital in minibuses and autos. Following the incident, a huge crowd gathered at the hospital.
