Besides Defence Minister Singh (Lucknow) and Minister for Women and Child Development Irani (Amethi), those in the fray were Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishor (Mohanlalganj), Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti (Fatehpur) and Union Minister of State for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma (Jalaun). Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is in the fray from Rae Bareli, which was represented by his mother and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi earlier.

Uttar Pradesh recorded a turnout of 57.75% after the end of phase 5 of Lok Sabha elections on Monday. These figures are till 7.30 pm as the Election Commission's 'Turnout' App kept on updating the numbers till this blog was updated. The final turnout is expected to be revealed in the next 24 hours. Jhansi Lok Sabha Seat recorded the highest (63.05%) turnout while Gonda recorded the lowest (51.45%). Crucial Amethi, Rae Bareli, and Lucknow seats saw 54.17%, 57.46%, and 52.03% turnouts respectively.

According to reports from Kaushambi, voters of Hisampur Madho village boycotted the polls.
