Shiv Sena (UBT) Commends Gadchiroli Development Under CM Fadnavis' Leadership

Shiv Sena (UBT) praised Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis for his efforts to turn the Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district into a steel city.

Mumbai: In a rare political gesture, Shiv Sena (UBT) praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his efforts in transforming Gadchiroli. Through its mouthpiece Saamana, the party lauded Fadnavis' initiatives to combat Naxalism and develop Gadchiroli, referring to his vision of making the district a 'Steel City'.

During his recent visit to Gadchiroli, while the country celebrated New Year, Fadnavis oversaw the surrender of 11 Naxals, who expressed a desire to return to the mainstream. This move earned accolades from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and now from Shiv Sena (UBT).

"If Gadchiroli, a district plagued by Naxalism, is to be rebranded as the 'Steel City', Chief Minister Fadnavis deserves recognition. His efforts to bring constitutional rule to Gadchiroli are commendable," the Saamana editorial stated. It also criticised unnamed leaders focused on securing ministerial posts, emphasising the need for political will to bring development to the district.

The editorial highlighted Fadnavis' role in launching key development projects and condemned previous leadership for failing to prioritise tribal development. "The previous Guardian Minister (Eknath Shinde) was more focused on benefiting mining lords than the region's tribals. Extortion replaced progress under his watch," the editorial claimed.

Shiv Sena (UBT) also pointed out significant milestones during Fadnavis' tenure, including the first bus service between Aheri and Gardewada after 77 years of independence. "The step taken by Fadnavis to eradicate Naxalism and promote development is noteworthy," the party stated.

Reacting to the unexpected praise, BJP minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule expressed gratitude. "I was waiting for this day when Saamana would appreciate Fadnavis' efforts," he said.
