Maharashtra: Fadnavis Cabinet Expanded, 39 Ministers Take Oath in Nagpur

The cabinet expansion took place more than two weeks after BJP's Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Nagpur: The swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' cabinet expansion took place at Rajbhavan in Nagpur on Sunday. As many as 39 MLAs took oath as ministers in this swearing-in ceremony.

Of them, 33 MLAs took oath as Cabinet ministers and six MLAs as State ministers. BJP gave chance to nine new MLAs in the Ministry. Ekanth Shinde's Shiv Sena introduced 6 new ministers while Ajit Pawar's NCP gave chances to 5 new candidates in the ministry. In all, 19 BJP, 11 Shiv Sena and nine NCP MLAs took oath as ministers.

The ministers from BJP are Girish Mahajan, Chandrakant Patil, Mangalprabhat Lodha, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Pankaja Munde, Ganesh Naik, Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Ashish Shelar, Atul Save, Sanjay Savkare, Ashok Uike, Akash Phundkar, Madhuri Misal, Jayakumar Gore, Meghna Bordikar, Pankaj Bhoyer, Shivendra Raje Bhosale, Nitesh Rane and Jaykumar Rawal.

The MLAs of Shiv Sena, who took oath today, are Dada Bhuse, Gulabrao Patil, Sanjay Rathore, Uday Samat, Shambhuraj Desai, Pratap Sarnaik, Yogash Kadam, Ashish Jaiswal, Bharat Gogavale, Prakash Abitkar and Sanjay Shirsat. From the NCP, the newly inducted ministers are Hasan Mushrif, Aditi Tatkare, Dhananjay Munde, Datta Mama Bharane, Babasaheb Patil, Narahari Jirwal, Makarand Patil, Indranil Naik and Manikrao Kokate.

Earlier, CM Devendra Fadnavis was given a grand welcome upon his arrival for the oath-taking of the MLAs in Nagpur. A big procession was taken out in the city to welcome Devendra Fadnavis. CM Devendra Fadnavis clarified, "This power will not go to our heads, our feet will remain on the ground." Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar interacted with the workers. "The ministers who will be sworn in today will remain in office for two and a half years," he clarified.

In this swearing-in ceremony, the Beed district has got two ministerial posts. Dhananjay Munde has been given a ministerial post from Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Pankaj Munde has been given ministerial post from BJP. Pankaj Munde and Dhananjay Munde, the two Siblings, will be working together in the cabinet for the first time.
