CM Atishi Slams Centre
In her reaction, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi slammed the BJP-led Central government for 'leaving' its work of ensuring law and order in Delhi and for spending its time to obstruct the work of the elected government in the national capital. This is the reason why the situation in Delhi today is like the Mumbai underworld era of the 1990s, she said.
In a post on X, Atishi said, "Bullets are being fired openly in the city, gangsters are extorting money and the morale of criminals is high. BJP has neither the intention to work nor the capability. If by mistake the people of Delhi give them the responsibility of the Delhi government, they will make the condition of schools, hospitals, electricity and water the same as the condition of law and order in Delhi today."
Local residents shaken
The entire Prashant Vihar area was shaken after the blast in Delhi's Prashant Vihar area. Ashu Gupta, who has an office there, said that the impact of the blast was felt far and wide, including in the nearby shops and vehicles. He said that the glass in the bathroom of their office was completely broken. "When we went to the washroom, everything was in ruins. Pieces of glass were scattered on the walls of the washroom window. Not only this, there were cracks on the walls as well," he said. The distance of his office from the incident spot is about 40-50 meters, he said.
People present at the spot said that after hearing the blast, they immediately came out of their houses and shops and saw an atmosphere of panic all around.
LG's appeal to people
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena appealed to the people to maintain restraint and avoid spreading fear. Taking to social media, LG said, "The bomb blasts in Delhi today are being investigated by several agencies. I am constantly monitoring the progress of the investigation and assure that the culprits will be punished. In the meantime, I appeal to everyone to maintain restraint and avoid spreading fear."
