Farrukhabad: Lt Col DR Kandoli Found Dead At His Fatehgarh Cantt Officers Colony Residence

A native of Himachal, Lt Col DR Kandoli was found dead by his colleagues at his Cantt Officers Colony residence.

Farrukhabad:A lieutenant colonel died by suicide at his residence in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district on Monday, police said. The army officer was fully dressed in his official duty uniform, when he was found dead.

Fatehgarh Police Station House Officer(SHO) Govind Hari Verma said the Lieutenant Colonel DR Kandoli (56) had died by suicide at his residence. A native of Jabal Jamrot, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, Kandoli lived in his official government residence in the Cantt Officers Colony in Fatehgarh.

Upon information, Govind Hari Verma arrived at the scene with his police team. He conducted the investigation, took custody of the body, and notified the family. DSP Aishwarya Upadhyay also visited the spot and conducted spot investigation. The forensics team was called to the site to gather evidences from the spot.

The police team moved the body of the deceased lieutenant colonel to a government hospital morgue in Fatehgarh for a post-mortem examination. As the news of the officer's death spread, his brothers-in-arms and juniors gathered around his house. Based on the information from the Army, son of the deceased officer, Ayush Rajput, arrived.

Verma said they will proceed with the investigation after the post-mortem report is made available to the team.

Police said preliminary investigations with family members revealed that the army officer was under severe stress. However, the family could not clearly state what was weighing him down. He is survived by his wife and four children. The children are studying away from home. Kandoli's wife lived with the children in Himachal Pradesh.
