Farrukhabad:A lieutenant colonel died by suicide at his residence in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district on Monday, police said. The army officer was fully dressed in his official duty uniform, when he was found dead.
Fatehgarh Police Station House Officer(SHO) Govind Hari Verma said the Lieutenant Colonel DR Kandoli (56) had died by suicide at his residence. A native of Jabal Jamrot, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, Kandoli lived in his official government residence in the Cantt Officers Colony in Fatehgarh.
Upon information, Govind Hari Verma arrived at the scene with his police team. He conducted the investigation, took custody of the body, and notified the family. DSP Aishwarya Upadhyay also visited the spot and conducted spot investigation. The forensics team was called to the site to gather evidences from the spot.
The police team moved the body of the deceased lieutenant colonel to a government hospital morgue in Fatehgarh for a post-mortem examination. As the news of the officer's death spread, his brothers-in-arms and juniors gathered around his house. Based on the information from the Army, son of the deceased officer, Ayush Rajput, arrived.
