Three Killed, Seven Injured in Explosion During Rock Blasting in Uttar Pradesh

A massive explosion took place during rock blasting in Mahoba of Uttar Pradesh claiming the lives of four people.

Mahoba (Uttar Pradesh): At least three people died and seven labourers were injured in an explosion during rock blasting when a portion of a hill fell on them in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba on Tuesday, the police said. The incident took place near Pahara village of Kabrai Police Station area of the district, they said.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and launched a rescue operation to retrieve the injured. Three people were pulled out from the debris and taken to the hospital where the doctor declared them dead. However, the injured brought to the hospital are undergoing treatment. The officials informed the family members of the workers.

Mahoba District Magistrate Mridul Chaudhary said, "The workers were engaged with the government lease work when the accident suddenly happened. Three labourers working at the site died after being buried under the debris, while the condition of one remains critical. Seven other people buried under the debris have been rescued and admitted to a hospital for treatment." Top officials, including SP Aparna Gupta, reached the spot..
