Taliban Takeover Anniversary: Govt Responsible 'To Maintain Islamic Rule', Says Afghanistan PM

Afghanistan's Taliban government is responsible to maintain Islamic rule, says Prime Minister Mohammad Hassan Akhund, in his message to the armed forces, marking the third anniversary of their takeover of the country.

In Afghanistan's capital, shop windows display dazzling ball gowns and three-piece wedding suits -- with the face of each mannequin covered. The morality police have asked stores to hide the mannequins' faces and photographs of models, according to a clothes seller in Kabul.
