Mumbai:The polling for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly polls was held on November 20. Several Bollywood stars prioritised fulfilling their civic duty by casting their votes.
With polling starting at 7 am, actors Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Rajkummar Rao, Ali Fazal, and others were among the first to step out of their homes to exercise their franchise. Later in the day, Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan also arrived to cast their votes. Shah Rukh and Salman exercised their franchise at polling booths in suburban Bandra in Mumbai.
Salman Khan arrived at the polling booth in Mumbai amidst tight security. He was dressed casually in a grey T-shirt paired with jeans, and a cap. Salman's parents - noted writer Salim Khan and Salma Khan also exercised their franchise.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan arrived with his family, including his wife Gauri Khan, daughter Suhana, and son Aryan, to cast their votes. Shah Rukh sported a white shirt, trousers, and a beanie cap. His arrival, like Salman's, was accompanied by heightened security measures.
Akshay Kumar, who made headlines last year by renouncing his Canadian citizenship, arrived at the polling booth early in the morning. Dressed in a black shirt and beige pants, he walked to the booth with security flanking him. As soon as he cast his vote, the actor was seen proudly showing his inked finger to the paparazzi and greeted them with a cheerful "Good morning." Speaking to the media, Akshay praised the arrangements at the polling centre, especially for senior citizens.
