Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar Cast Their Votes - Watch

Bollywood celebrities Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao, Farhan Akhtar, and others cast their votes in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Mumbai:The polling for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly polls was held on November 20. Several Bollywood stars prioritised fulfilling their civic duty by casting their votes.

With polling starting at 7 am, actors Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Rajkummar Rao, Ali Fazal, and others were among the first to step out of their homes to exercise their franchise. Later in the day, Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan also arrived to cast their votes. Shah Rukh and Salman exercised their franchise at polling booths in suburban Bandra in Mumbai.

Salman Khan arrived at the polling booth in Mumbai amidst tight security. He was dressed casually in a grey T-shirt paired with jeans, and a cap. Salman's parents - noted writer Salim Khan and Salma Khan also exercised their franchise.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan arrived with his family, including his wife Gauri Khan, daughter Suhana, and son Aryan, to cast their votes. Shah Rukh sported a white shirt, trousers, and a beanie cap. His arrival, like Salman's, was accompanied by heightened security measures.

Akshay Kumar, who made headlines last year by renouncing his Canadian citizenship, arrived at the polling booth early in the morning. Dressed in a black shirt and beige pants, he walked to the booth with security flanking him. As soon as he cast his vote, the actor was seen proudly showing his inked finger to the paparazzi and greeted them with a cheerful "Good morning." Speaking to the media, Akshay praised the arrangements at the polling centre, especially for senior citizens.

Farhan Akhtar also cast his vote early. Sporting a blue shirt, Farhan made sure to fulfil his responsibility before starting his day. His sister, director Zoya Akhtar, was seen arriving at the booth soon after to do the same. Other celebrities who cast their votes included Stree actor Rajkummar Rao, who emphasised the importance of voting. He took the opportunity to interact with the security personnel, even posing for selfies with them.

The enthusiasm among celebrities was contagious, with many urging their fans and followers to step out and vote. Filmmaker Kabir Khan was also seen participating in the democratic process. New father Ali Fazal, was also spotted in a blue shirt.

Among other notable personalities who voted were directors Subhash Ghai, Rakesh Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and his sister Zoya Akhtar, actors Madhuri Dixit Nene, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Padmini Kolhapuri, Shubha Khote, and Anupam Kher among others. Veteran singer Asha Bhosle too cast her vote at a polling station in South Mumbai.

In Pune, Marathi actor Subodh Bhave, and singer Rahul Deshpande also exercised their franchise.
