Mumbai: Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been taken to the nearest hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his own revolver this morning, according to a senior Mumbai Police official. Govinda, 60, was preparing to leave for Kolkata when he was handling his licensed revolver. It slipped from his hand, leading to an accidental discharge that struck his leg.
"We had a 6 am flight to catch for a show in Kolkata and I had reached the airport. Govinda ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened," said his manager, Shashi Sinha. The doctor has successfully removed the bullet and Govinda's condition is stable. He is currently in the hospital.
