Hyderabad:Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's reality show Bigg Boss 18 concluded with actor Karan Veer Mehra as the winner. Karan defeated fellow competitor Vivian Dsena in the top two to lift the trophy. The 18th season aired on 6 October 2024 and ran for over 100 episodes, culminating in the grand finale late Sunday night.
On his back-to-back win with Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 and now Bigg Boss 18, Karan feels he is the 'chosen one'. Talking about his success mantra to a newswire, Karan said: "I feel very happy. I am the chosen one. I did the rare task of winning back-to-back reality shows. I believed in myself. I worked hard and aimed for the top and it happened."
Opening up about the changes he noticed in himself during the reality show, the Pavitra Rishta actor said: "I came to know a few things about me, like that I am an emotional person. Before, when I used to cry over little things, I felt bad. But now, I believe that it's okay."
His journey in the Bigg Boss house has not been easy with the show's format testing his patience and skills. The roller coaster ride of over 3 months saw him at loggerheads with tough competitor Vivian Dsena, intense fights with Sara Khan, and light moments with Avinash Mishra. The actor also developed a love interest for actor Chum Darang in the show.
For the unversed, Karan and Vivian started as good allies in the beginning, however, with growing competition, their friendship ended in a rift. Talking about his sour relationship with Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani actor, he confessed to feeling jealous of him. "When two people fight for the same trophy, there will be bitterness. But I was also jealous that he got things way easier and sooner than me, which I have admitted many times in the show. But he is also a good family man, so I love him," quipped Mehra.
The show finale saw a total of six contestants fighting for the ultimate trophy and Rs 50 lakh prize money. Apart from Vivian, Eisha Singh, Chum Darang, Avinash Mishra, and Rajat Dalal made it to the finale.
