Resident Doctor Dies by 'Suicide' in Car on Hospital Campus at Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj

A syringe and a bottle were found in the car in which the resident doctor was found dead by colleagues on the premises of Swaroop Rani Hospital in Prayagraj. The incident happened after the doctor came out of the hospital building at 11.30 pm. No suicide note has been found and the police are investigating the case.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): A resident doctor allegedly committed suicide in his car which was parked on the premises of the SRN Hospital here in Prayagraj late on Saturday night. On receiving information from the hospital staff, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) along with other police officers reached the spot with their teams.

Injection marks have been found on the hand of the deceased doctor. A syringe and a medicine bottle were also recovered from the spot. At the same time, no suicide note was found there. The reason for the doctor's death has not been revealed yet. The police are investigating the matter and they are collecting information from the fellow doctors at the hospital.

The deceased doctor was identified as Dr. Kartikeya Srivastava, a native of Apaar Kalavad area of ​​Kotdwar in Uttarakhand. He was working at Swaroop Rani Hospital in Prayagraj and lived on Stanley Road. He was last seen leaving the hospital at around 11.30 pm on Saturday night. His car was parked in the hospital campus. After some time, other doctors, who also started going home, saw Dr. Kartikeya's dead body inside the car and informed the police.

The police team led by DCP City Abhishek Bhartiya searched the vehicle. Giving information about the case, the DCP said that the doctor has committed suicide. The body has been sent for postmortem. The cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report comes. Evidence has been collected.

Dr. Karthikeya was the second among three brothers and one sister. He has two brothers Ankit and Akshat. Both of them are also doctors. His sister Aditi is a jail superintendent. His father's name is Krishna Kumar Srivastava and his mother's name is Pratibha.
