Jharkhand: Prime Minister Modi Unveils Slew of Projects Worth Rs 35,700 Crore on Friday

The Prime Minister has flagged off the Deoghar-Dibrugarh weekly train, which includes the MEMU train service between Tatanagar and Badampahar (daily) and the long-haul freight train from Shivpur station.

Dhanbad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a slew of development projects worth Rs 35,700 crore on Friday, focusing on the fertiliser, rail, power, and coal sectors in Jharkhand.

According to sources, the PM reached by helicopter the Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan Limited factory premises located in Sindri.

Thereafter, he inaugurated the fertilizer factory, which has been constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 9 thousand crores. Apart from this, PM Modi has also laid the foundation stone for several projects of the Dhanbad Railway Division, which cost around Rs 17,600 crore in Jharkhand.

The projects include the third and fourth lines connecting Sone Nagar and Andal; the Tori-Shivpur first and second railway lines; and the Biratoli-Shivpur third railway line (part of the Tori-Shivpur Project); the Mohanpur-Hansdiha new rail line; and the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line, among others. These projects will expand rail services in the state and lead to socio-economic development in the region.

Besides, the Prime Minister also flagged off the Deoghar-Dibrugarh weekly train; this is the first train to run on the newly built Deoghar-Godda railway line.

That includes the Deoghar-Dibrugarh train service, the MEMU train service between Tatanagar and Badampahar (daily), and the long-haul freight train from Shivpur station.

However, the PM is slated for a two-day visit to Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar on March 1 and 2. (With Agency Inputs)
