New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the need for leaders with a global outlook but an Indian mindset at the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) conclave on Friday. Speaking at the event, PM Modi stated that India requires leaders across various sectors who can think globally while maintaining a strong connection to their local roots.

"We need people who move forward understanding international perspectives with an Indian mind," Modi said. He highlighted the importance of a leadership style that mirrors India's national vision, whether in bureaucracy, business, or any other sector. Such leadership, according to the Prime Minister, is crucial in solving global complexities and promoting India's interests on the international stage.

PM Modi pointed out that India is steadily emerging as a global powerhouse and called for world-class leaders to maintain this momentum and replicate successes across different fields. He identified institutions like the School of Ultimate Leadership as key players in fostering such leaders, stressing the role of human resources in driving innovation and skill development.

In his speech, PM Modi cited the example of Gujarat, which faced scepticism about its future when it was formed as a separate state due to its lack of natural resources. However, he noted that Gujarat's leaders have helped the state thrive, mentioning that though it lacks diamond mines, it processes 90 per cent of the world's diamonds.

SOUL, a new institution in Gujarat, aims to nurture authentic leaders committed to advancing the public good. The two-day conclave, attended by leaders from diverse sectors including politics, business, sports, arts, and public policy, offered a platform for sharing inspiring leadership journeys and discussing key aspects of effective leadership.
