Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 | NCP's Dattatray Bharane Wins From Indapur Seat By Over 19,000 Votes

Dattatray Bharane defeated NCP (SP) leader Harshavardhan Patil by a margin of 19,410 votes on the Indapur Assembly seat.

Pune: As counting of votes for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 concluded, NCP candidate Dattatray Bharane emerged victorious from the Indapur Assembly seat against NCP (SP) leader Harshavardhan Patil.

As per the ECI's latest real-time data, Dattatray secured 117236 votes against Patil's tally of 97826 giving a winning lead of 19410 votes to the NCP leader after the conclusion of all the 26 rounds of counting as per the Election Commission of India. Independent candidate Mane Pravin Dasharath remained as the 2nd runner-up with 37917 votes while as Advocate Girish Madan Patil of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi was the 3rd runner-up securing 2141 votes.

One of the key contests is the Indapur seat in the Pune district in western Maharashtra. Harshavardhan Patil, a former Congress leader, switched to the BJP first and then to the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar). Harshavardhan, a former Maharashtra Minister.

Like Harshavardhan, Dattatray Bharane also has the support of the masses. The seat also comes under the sugar belt and both Harshvardhan and Bharane have done considerable work in the co-operative sector.

Harshavardhan was promised by Sharad Pawar that he would be made a minister if the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) comes to power in the state. The leader also has extensive knowledge about the working of co-operative sector, especially the sugar factories.
