ముంబయిలో ఉగ్రదాడి జరిగి నేటికి 11 ఏళ్లయిన నేపథ్యంలో క్రీడా సమాజం బాధితులకు నివాళులు అర్పించింది. టీమిండియా కెప్టెన్ విరాట్ కోహ్లీ, సచిన్ తెందూల్కర్, చతేశ్వర్ పుజారా, అజింక్య రహానే తదితరులు ట్విట్టర్ వేదికగా సంతాపం ప్రకటించారు.

2008 నవంబర్ 26న జరిగిన ఈ దాడి.. నాలుగు రోజుల పాటు కొనసాగింది. పాక్ నుంచి సముద్ర మార్గం ద్వారా భారత్కు చేరుకున్న 10 మంది లష్కరే తోయిబా ఉగ్రవాదులు, ముంబయి ఛత్రపతి శివాజీ రైల్వే స్టేషన్, నారిమన్ పాయింట్, తాజ్ హోటల్, కామా ఆసుపత్రి, ఓబెరాయ్ హోటల్పై దాడికి దిగారు.
పాశవికంగా జరిగిన ఈ దాడిలో 166 మంది ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు. 300 మందికి తీవ్ర గాయాలయ్యాయి. జాతీయ భద్రతా దళం(ఎన్ఎస్జీ) చేపట్టిన ఆపరేషన్ ద్వారా ఉగ్రవాదులను మట్టుబెట్టారు. కసబ్ అనే ఉగ్రవాది ప్రాణాలతో చిక్కగా 2012లో అతడికి ఉరిశిక్ష విధించారు.
