దాదా, భజ్జీ స్టెప్పులు.. అభిమానులు ఫిదా

బీసీసీఐ అధ్యక్షుడు గంగూలీ.. భారత సీనియర్ స్పిన్నర్ హర్భజన్​తో కలిసి చిందులేశాడు. ఓ టీవీ షోలో వీరు చేసిన ఈ డ్యాన్స్ వైరల్​గా మారింది.

బీసీసీఐ అధ్యక్షుడు సౌరభ్‌ గంగూలీ దూకుడైన బ్యాటింగ్​కు కోట్లాది అభిమానులున్నారు. కానీ దాదా బయట ఎక్కువగా ఎంటర్​టైన్​ చేసిన దాఖలాలు లేవు. ఇప్పుడు ఓ టీవీ షోలో డ్యాన్స్ చేసి అందరినీ ఆశ్చర్యపరిచాడు. సీనియర్ బౌలర్ హర్భజన్ సింగ్​తో కలిసి స్టెప్పులేశాడు. ఈ వీడియో వైరల్​గా మారింది.

గంగూలీ, హర్భజన్​, వీవీఎస్‌ లక్ష్మణ్‌, వీరేంద్ర సెహ్వాగ్‌, మహ్మద్‌ కైఫ్‌, జహీర్‌ఖాన్‌, భారత స్పిన్నర్‌ రవిచంద్రన్‌ అశ్విన్‌ ఓ షోలో పాల్గొన్నారు. పాపులర్‌ సింగర్‌ ఉష ఉతుప్‌.. బాలీవుడ్‌ హిట్‌ సినిమా 'జిందగీ నా మిలేగి దుబారా'లోని 'సెనోరిటా' పాట పాడగా.. దాదాతో కలిసి భజ్జీ చిందేశాడు. వారిద్దరి స్టెప్పులను చూసి లక్ష్మణ్‌, సెహ్వాగ్‌, కైఫ్‌ కరతాల ధ్వనులు చేస్తూ నవ్వులు చిందించారు.

గంగూలీ సారథ్యంలోనే హర్భజన్‌ వెలుగులోకి వచ్చాడు. 2001లో ఈడెన్‌గార్డెన్స్‌ వేదికగా ఆస్ట్రేలియాతో జరిగిన టెస్టులో భజ్జీ హ్యాట్రిక్‌తో సహా 13 వికెట్లు తీసి, జట్టు విజయంలో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించాడు. ఈ విజయంతో వరుసగా 16 టెస్టుల్లో గెలిచి జైత్రయాత్ర కొనసాగిస్తున్న ఆసీస్‌కు గంగూలీ సేన చెక్‌ పెట్టింది. ఇటీవల అప్పటి జ్ఞాపకాలను దాదా పంచుకుంటూ.. "తొలి చూపులోనే ప్రేమ పుడుతుందని అందరూ చెబుతుంటారు. ఈడెన్‌లో 13 వికెట్లు పడగొట్టిన హర్భజన్‌ను చూసి లవ్‌ ఎట్‌ ఫస్ట్‌సైట్‌గా అనిపించింది. అతడి బౌలింగ్‌ చూసి ఫిదా అయ్యాను. భారత క్రికెట్‌లో అతడు మార్పులు తీసుకొస్తాడని నమ్మాను. తర్వాత అతడు 700 వికెట్లు పడగొట్టడం నాకు పెద్దగా ఆశ్చర్యమేమి అనిపించలేదు" అని భజ్జీని కొనియాడాడు దాదా.

In the border city of Ruili in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local schools offer students from Myanmar free education.
An 11-year-old Myanmar girl who goes by the Chinese name of Jie En travels abroad every day. Passing through the immigration checkpoint, she attends a Chinese school near her home.
"I love studying at this school, because the campus is beautiful. Besides, I can learn different things and play with many friends here," she said.
Located in Ruili, a city sharing a long border with Myanmar, the Yinjing Elementary School has dozens of students from neighboring Myanmar villages, accounting for more than 30 percent of its total number of students.
Although they dress differently, students of both countries receive the same education and enjoy equal treatment here.
Just like their Chinese peers, the Myanmar children do not need to pay any tuition fees. They are also provided with free breakfast and some other assistance.
Despite coming from two different countries, many of the students here share the same ethnic origin of Dai. So, besides the regular curriculum, the school also offers some special courses for them.
"We teach them Chinese, Myanmar and Dai languages with our own textbooks. We hope to promote more exchanges in language and ethnic cultures, and cultivate international friendships from an early age," said Sun Jialiang, principal of the school.
Harmony and happiness are what an outsider might be impressed by in this small school.
"I like being friends with my Myanmar classmates. We often play sepak takraw (kick volleyball) and basketball and do homework together," said Ai Tun, a Chinese student.
"I like my teachers. They are so nice to me. Whenever I have problems, they always help me," said Xiang Molao, a Myanmar student.
Jie En's mother runs a small restaurant near the border in Ruili. Like many other parents, she believes a good relationship between the two countries will create better opportunities for children.
"My home is close to China. We send our daughter to this school with the hope that she can learn more and make a good living in China in the future," the mother said.
Actually, Yinjing is not the only school in the city accommodating Myanmar kids.
Principal Sun said providing education in this way is an emblem of great love, which will help form lasting friendship for generations to come.
